设计师受到街头的启发,创下这个品牌。这最新的系列希望展开人们以非政治立场的角度去讨论现代社会的议题。

As 2017 was such an eventful year, Zherui Huang cumulated a series of ideas into his collection as a response to these events. The focus here is putting twists with intriguing fabrications on architype garments, which reflect upon events that affect our everyday lives. The attitude here is optimistic—people constantly face difficulties, and it is the artist’s duty to bring a sense of joy. Garments empower bodies, and a generous portion of love and desire can be experienced through the collection.

“This year I became intrigued with the idea of Tokyo, and its busy city life, from the crowdedness to the street art, to the bright and alive nightlife. The concepts of strong colors, layers, crowdedness, and street art are heavily influenced in this collection. Plaid is mainly used in this collection because to me it delivers a strong, colorful and confident statement. Furthermore, many forms of fine art will be graffitied on the clothing, signifying the street art.”

[About the Artist
Born in Xi’an, China, Qiongxin Kou is a Chinese fashion designer currently living in New
York City. She has featured in the article “6 Designers (Straight out of Fashion School) to
Know“ on New York Times, and has been a selected candidate for the Coach Hackathon
2017 for Top Students and a selected designer for Parsons End of Year Benefit Runway
of 2017. My background consists of three countries and three fashion colleges: France's Esmod (Beijing branch), United Kingdom’s Central Saint Martins and the United States' Parsons. Each country and education has its own unique culture, and the different levels
of pressure, structure, responsibility and market have widened my scope in the industry,
making me much more flexible and adaptable to future challenges. My professional
strength tends to focus more on the crafty side of fashion design, as I am passionate in
the exploration of materiality and structure in design. However, I am solid in the
proficiency of other required skills, capable of communication and collaboration between
different departments, techniques, and tools.
Artist Statement
As a fashion designer, I see garments as a tool that not only transforms the appearance
of the wearer, but also as a factor that can cause change in the lifestyle of the wearer. As
we grow and interact with the world, our emotions and physicals adapt, and since
garments rely on the body to gain meaning, it should, conceptually, be able to grow and
interact with the world as well. This inner view of seeing garments and design are also
my intention for building upon my brand. Through researches of philosophy, psychology and sociology, I dissect and analyze the behaviors of humans, in order to construct concepts that discuss these three subjects: Time, Evolution, and Metabolism, a chain of factors that leads to happiness and health. These are the elements that drive an individual’s improvement and happiness, and my designs seek to be a part of this beautiful force. Through careful selection of methods in how I approach the production of my designs, I exclude many factors that have been
harmful, superficial and wasteful, so the wearer can be free from these negativities,
resulting in real responsible designs that will last. I tend to use natural objects as the motif of my collections, as I am inspired by their miraculous and organic sense of existence. The way a plant grows, a river flows, or a star glows, express simple yet powerful meanings of life. I also tend to put heavy amounts of handcrafting elements in my designs, as handcrafting is a ritual that genuinely respects time, and its delicacy raise true appreciation. I believe my garments
will let my wearers see how much more positivity a garment can bring to their life, when
so much negativity is excluded, and replaced with moral, careful, and thoughtful choices
all the way through.]
